Ford is the latest to announce an Electric full-size truck. Ford has had the best-selling pickup truck for over 40 years now! Currently, Tesla leads the electric vehicle market, could this be the beginning of Ford's plan to take over the electric truck industry as well?
Ford Motor Company has given us an official release date for middle to end of 2022, however, a head of electrification at Ford recently hinted that the All-electric F-150 could be on the market as soon as 2021 to compete with the other electric trucks expected to launch next year as well. That being said, Ford broke ground on their Electric Vehicle Facility in Michigan in mid-September of this year. The Ford F-150 Electric should be released, if all goes to plan, around the same time as the Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T, Nikola Badger, and several other electric pickup trucks.
The all-electric F-150 will release a full decade after the first mass-market EV (Electric Vehicle) vehicle debuted in 2010. While a lot of the public remains unaware and uneducated regarding electric vehicles, hopefully Ford's release will provide the tangible proof needed to get behind the reliability and efficiency of electric vehicles. With the expected towing capacity and torque of a full-size truck, Ford has set buyer expectations high. Featuring dual electric motors the F-150 is set to deliver more torque and horsepower than any F-150 currently available.
Now we wait!
