Thinking of ordering the new 2018 Ford Raptor but wondering what changes will be coming to the latest model? Sorry V8 lovers, but there is no option for a V8 in this model year, the 2018 Ford Raptor still comes with the 3.5L V6. Being a leader in the Ford Raptor community we have comprised a list of all the changes coming to the 2018 Raptor to give you an idea if you want to wait to order a new one or buy a current 2017.
A few weeks ago, we wrote a blog post here that discussed the latest color changes coming to the 2018 model. TLDR: Avalanche Grey is being discontinued and Race Red & Lead Foot Grey are getting added to the line up.
So what else?
1. New tailgate design
The latest spy spot images as seen on Trucks.com(Photo: Brian Williams) shows there will be a new tailgate design with the stamped "F-150" screen in the picture below. We believe this change is real because the 2018 F-150 also has this new stamped design.
The good news is that the new 18 model will still continue to use the same front-end design we have all grown to love over the past year. There were some reports floating around that the 2018 Raptor would get the same updated grille and headlights like the 2018 Ford F-150 lineup, but this is not the case.
2. 2018 Ford Raptor Price
The 2018 Ford Raptor will see a slight price increase from the previous year. Town & Country TV published a guide that shows the 2018 Raptor Crew listed at $52,770 compared to the 2017 Raptor Super Crew starting at $52,250 which is a $520 base price increase.
Want the 802A package? Expect to pay $425 increase from the 2017 model. The luxurious Raptor 802A package is listed at $9,345 for 2017. The 802A price for 2018 is $9,770.
Bottom line, want a fully loaded 2018 Ford Raptor Super Crew? Expect to pay $72,855 at MSRP.
3. 2018 Ford Raptor Audio System Changes
One noticeable change is that the 2018 model will carry the B&O Premium Audio System which replaces the Sony Audio System which is in the 2017 models.
4. 2018 Ford Raptor Colors
Here at Addictive Desert Designs, we have completed a couple of renderings of the new colors on a 2018 Raptor to give you an idea of what it could look like. There are also a couple of pictures of a Lead Foot Grey 2018 Raptor spotted in the wild shown below:
