2023 Ford F-150 Rattler – Little Brother to the Raptor & Tremor

2023 Ford F-150 Rattler – Little Brother to the Raptor & Tremor

For most people, the Ford F-150 Raptor is one of the boldest trucks ever made. From the massive power made from the current twin-turbo V6 to the out-of-the-box capability with its premium suspension, these beasts rule the roads and trails globally. However, those trucks were not made for all as the Raptor, as well as the Tremor, can be priced a bit outside of practically everyone’s budget. This is why Ford recently announced a new trim level: the new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler! By being able to fill the void between a standard pickup truck and the extreme Raptor, this new trim is sure to be an instant hit with its strong specs, tough looks, and personal touches. However, you will have to wait until the Fall of 2022 to get into one!

Redefining Built Ford Tough

According to Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager, the “new F-150 Rattler offers aspiring adventures an off-road option with expressive looks and capability in one package.” He continued by saying, “this truck builds off the F-150 off-road legacy.”

To make sure the Rattler is up for this task, Ford selected a proven configuration many enthusiasts go for: the XL series with FX4 content and standard four-wheel drive! FX4 bits include skid plates to protect major mechanical components, an electronic rear locking differential for increased traction in any condition, hill descent control for increased descending capabilities, and specially tuned off-road shock absorbers to help on uneven terrain. Additionally, the F-150 Rattler comes standard with all-terrain tires ready to conquer almost anything!

Looking the Part

To make sure everyone on the road knows how tough the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler is on the trails, Ford enhanced the exhaust note and profile of this truck to make others think it is ready for Baja. One of the most noticeable, and welcomed, enhancements would be the dual exhaust system. With an aggressive look this exhaust not only provides great styling, but also a very sporty note. The Rattler also has trim exclusive 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, providing an aggressive profile, along with fender vents and rattlesnake-inspired graphics.

Once inside, the Ford F-150 Rattler also has a unique interior. Throughout the cab, burnished bronze accents provide more contrast than even a Platinum equipped truck while the stitching of the Onyx seats continues the desert-inspired motif throughout.

Color Yourself

While the wheels, decals, and interior are set, you can choose the finishing touches on the outside with one of eight different colors. They include Oxford White, Avalanche, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Antimatter Blue, Stone Gray, Agate Black, and the powerful Rapid Red TriCoat. An upcharge is required should you go with Rapid Red TriCoat.

Even if you are ready today to jump into the new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler, you will have to wait until fall. And while no price has bet set for this very capable truck, Todd Eckert did say that the Rattler will have “the right blend of styling and value in the F-150 lineup.” Our line of 2021+ Ford F-150 Bumpers will be compatible with the new Rattler trim!

This is a brilliant way to further segment the the F150 brand. Looks like great off-road capability without losing a pleasant ride on the pavement. The interior is stunning.
