- Choosing With Confidence
A factory bumper is often built to do only the bare minimum, not for off-road adventures. It sits low, doesn't have winch capabilities, and has no room for additional lighting. Switching to an aftermarket bumper opens up options for clearance, recovery, and lighting the factory bumper cannot deliver. The hardest part is finding the best off-road bumper configuration that fits your platform and style.
Since 2007, Addictive Desert Designs has been at the forefront of aftermarket truck bumpers, starting with the Ford Raptor and expanding to over 25 different vehicle makes and models and over 10 different bumper lines today. Whether you want a winch bumper with bolt-on install, a heavy duty truck bumper with custom lighting modification, or even a high speed optimized front end, we have the right bumper for you. Every one of them is designed, tested, and manufactured in the USA with you in mind.
With ADD it's not about choosing between different tiers of quality; every line is built from high-quality steel, finished in our durable black powder coat, and passes through a quality inspection to ensure the highest standards are met. Our different steel bumper series allow you to choose between styling, usage, and how much modification you are willing to do.

How to Choose the Right Off-Road Bumper for Your Truck
When choosing an aftermarket front bumper, finding the right one comes down to five questions to narrow the search:
1. What look are you after?
Styling is an important part of your build and should match your vision. With our wide selection of off-road bumpers you can go from a more aggressive and low profile bumper with the Stealth Fighter to a bold look with the HoneyBadger. If you’re looking for a knife-edge, form-fit front end, then the Phantom bumper is for you; whereas an understated, modern look points to the Black Label. Every bumper is engineered to the same standard, no matter the series or styling. Our rear bumpers all belong to the same bumper families so you can round out your build with consistent design cues and utility.
2. How do you use the truck?
Every ADD bumper line is designed to be off-road friendly so the question is not whether a bumper can handle the trail, but where your truck will spend most of its time. A truck used almost solely for street commuting and paved worksites has different priorities than a build seen more often on the trails. Most trucks fall somewhere in between, splitting time between the city, the worksite, and the weekend. High-speed desert driving rewards the high-clearance design of the ADD Pro, Rock Fighter, and Phantom bumpers. The improved approach angles, lighting capability, and protection provided by the Bomber, Stealth Fighter, and ADD Edge series provide an advantage when on rocky, uneven terrain. Daily street and worksite driving point to our Phantom HD, Black Label, and HoneyBadger bumpers which still carry the clearance and protection needed for all terrain driving.
3. Do you need accessories like a winch, lights, or want to keep your factory functionality?
Although most ADD bumpers are engineered with recovery and lighting capabilities to begin with, some allow more or less customization than others. Winch-compatible designs and bumpers for winches are offered across the catalog with matching winch kit upgrades sold for specific bumpers. As an authorized dealer for Baja Designs, Rigid Industries, Nacho Offroad Lighting, DV8 Offroad, and KC HiLiTES, we design our truck bumpers with auxiliary off-road lighting in mind, fitting a wide range of off-road optics. For example, the Bomber bumper is sold according to your choice of light configuration. We design our bumpers to retain factory sensors, trailer plugs, etc. as much as possible. If your truck has adaptive cruise control, ADD builds ACC relocation brackets and kits to ensure you keep your OEM features without compromising the bumper’s seamless style.
4. How much modification are you willing to do?
Most ADD bumpers, front and rear, are engineered for form-fitting bolt-on installation that requires no cutting or welding. However, the Frame-Cut ADD PRO and Pro Plus bumpers require frame modification for fitment rather than a bolt-on installation. The extra work on the frame pays off, allowing you to have the maximum amount of clearance for off-roading but at the cost of a more difficult install requiring permanent modification. If you are not prepared for that work, the ADD PRO Bolt-On line delivers the same designs without touching the frame.
5. What vehicle do you drive?
Bumper series coverage differs based on the vehicle make and model, significantly narrowing down the options. For example, the Stealth Fighter front bumpers span most vehicle platforms in the catalog from the Ford Raptor and Super Duty to RAM 1500 and Chevy Silverado whereas the Race Series bumpers are currently only supported for the Raptor. Make sure to check vehicle compatibility before purchase.

A Look at the Series by Your Build Purpose
The ADD Signature Build: Stealth Fighter

Pictured above is the Stealth Fighter Front for GMC Sierra.
The Stealth Fighter steel bumper series is ADD’s largest line with the most supported vehicles and it is the signature ADD look. With its aggressive styling, the front bumper keeps factory functionality while still being protected on the trail. Its integrated recovery points and lighting options allow for this bumper to be customized to your preference. One huge feature of our Stealth Fighter front bumpers is that most are winch-ready, either from the start or with optional winch upgrade kits.
The Stealth Fighter bumpers have proven to be one of our customers‘ favorite options when looking for a stylish yet capable front end for daily driving with weekend trail rides.
Maximum Light Performance: Bomber and ADD Edge
Pictured above is the 3rd Gen Raptor Bomber (Baja) Front Bumper.
The Bomber bumper series is one of ADD’s largest lines and also one of the most customizable. Specifically built to house either pod lights or light bars, you can choose the look that best fits your style. Its slim fitting, low-profile look is a favorite of our customers while still allowing ample off-road clearance. With its menacing accent panels and steel plate design, this bumper series gives you the widest range of lighting configurations with a strong undercarriage.
Pictured above is the ADD Edge Front Bumper for the Ranger Raptor.
The ADD Edge bumper series features a low-profile design with sharp styling and the absolute highest clearance ADD has to offer. With a removable skid plate and a center mount for 4 round lights, the Edge bumper is a great option for Ford Raptor and Ranger Raptor owners looking for an understated off-road functionality with featured lighting.
These are your best picks if you are looking for an optimized bumper with recognizable round lighting options.
On Tough Terrain and Trails: Rock Fighter

The Rock Fighter is a popular choice for Bronco and Bronco Raptors.
The Rock Fighter bumper series focuses on off-road protection first. Made for heavy trail use, this series features high clearance and approach angles for greater maneuverability while keeping a low profile look. With a vented skid plate to allow air to flow to the intercooler, this bumper will keep up with your adventures. The Rock Fighter on Jeep and Bronco vehicles also features a top hoop to keep your winch in place for recovery purposes. Sitting at the bottom of the bumper is a center mounted light bar for extra trail lighting.
This bumper is your best option if you are looking for an extreme off-road bumper for your Ford Bronco Raptor, F-150 Raptor, or Jeep Wrangler JL/JT. Other bumpers to consider on extreme off-road adventures include the Bomber and Stealth Fighter (with winch compatibility) bumper series.
High Speed Desert Racing: ADD PRO, PRO Plus Bolt-On, and PRO Plus Frame-Cut

Our new Pro Plus Frame-Cut front bumper for the 3rd Gen Raptor is pictured above on a Raptor R.
The ADD PRO series of bumpers features the slimmest-fitting bumpers we build to stay flush with the front of your vehicle and be optimized for high speed desert racing. Made in both bolt-on and frame-cut versions for maximum approach angles, you can decide the bumper’s type of install. Many of the PRO series bumpers require adaptive cruise control relocation to fit the included skid plate and provide the ultimate amount of clearance, especially with the Frame-Cut PRO bumpers made specifically for the Ford Raptor. The PRO bumper allows for a wide range of lighting capabilities to fit up to a 30” LED light bar or up to 8 cube lights depending on the vehicle. The Bolt-On PRO bumpers are best for Ford Raptor, F-150, Bronco, RAM 1500 TRX, Toyota Tacoma, and Chevy Colorado ZR2.
The Pro Plus series of bumpers features a more clean and precise, low-profile fitment to your vehicle to accommodate for high clearance sides and is made specifically for the Ford F-150 Raptor and Raptor R.
Also consider the Phantom and ADD Edge bumper series when considering high speed desert racing optimization.
A Clean and Modern Design: Phantom and Black Label

Featured above is the popular Phantom Bumper for 3rd Gen Raptors.
The Phantom bumper is one of ADD’s most popular bumpers and has redefined the aftermarket Raptor front end. Its knife-edge design allows for enhanced approach angles while still having a refined, aggressive appearance. The low profile look is one of the reasons why it is ADD’s best selling bumper series. While it is super popular with Raptors, this bumper series has also expanded to many other makes and models, including the Bronco Raptor, Ranger Raptor, RAM 1500 TRX and RHO, Chevy Colorado ZR2, and Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT. The Phantom bumper also inspired our heavy duty version, the Phantom HD, which allows for a hidden winch on the Super Duty, Silverado 2500/3500, and Sierra 2500/3500.
Pictured above is the Black Label Bumper for the Chevy Silverado.
The Black Label bumper series specializes in a form-fitting, clean aesthetic that complements factory style. This non-aggressive look is perfect for owners who want the elevated look without the modifications. The easy bolt-on installation makes it a great option for Chevy Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, RAM 1500, Toyota Tundra, and Ford F-150 models.
An Upgraded Factory Look: Stealth Center Mount and Phantom HD
Stealth Center Mount Front Bumper (without hoop) on the 4th Gen Toyota Tacoma.
The Stealth Center Mount series of front bumpers is a great choice for a sleek look with extra lighting capability, recovery points, and a winch-ready design with concealed winch trays. These Stealth Center Mount bumpers can mount a single LED light bar and are designed for off-road performance without sacrificing the factory style or tech.
Ford Super Duty equipped with our Phantom HD Front Bumper.
The Phantom HD winch front bumpers are made for heavy duty trucks and feature a knife’s-edge, seamless design. Included are modular extreme-duty hidden winch mounts, a removable aluminum skid plate, an integrated center recessed light pocket mount for a light bar or cube lights, and two side light mounts.
Maximum Visual Impact: HoneyBadger
Pictured above is the 3rd Gen Raptor HoneyBadger Front Bumper.
The HoneyBadger bumper series features an aggressive steel design that is both low-profile and functional. With its functional lighting integration, an optional winch mount, and optional top hoop, the bumper configuration is yours to specify. The design features a recessed center light bar and side lights following its continuous body lines for full-width front end protection. It is a great option for Ford Raptor, F-150, Super Duty, Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, and GMC Canyon owners looking for a strong bumper with bold lighting and the strength for recovery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is ADD the superior choice?
ADD bumpers are engineered to the tightest tolerances in the industry. ADD was the first to market with aftermarket Raptor bumpers in 2007 and has led every generation since, setting the aftermarket standard for nearly two decades.
Everything is designed, engineered, manufactured, and tested in the USA at ADD’s facility in Chandler, AZ. Each product has a one-year warranty from date of purchase on parts against defects in workmanship and material so you can be assured your bumper is covered.
How do I choose the right bumper for my truck?
When choosing the right ADD bumper for your specific truck, always consider the fitment first. Once you narrow your options to front bumpers that actually fit your make and model, narrow further by intent, styling preferences, whether you want a winch, integrated lighting, or a bolt-on installation. This will leave you with a list of real options.
What aftermarket bumper features are important to have when off-roading in rugged terrain?
There are many aftermarket bumper features to consider when replacing your factory bumper for off-roading but approach angle matters most. Having the highest clearance possible decreases the chances of material catching on rocks and improves the angles your truck can climb. Added tire clearance is also a feature to look for on trucks with added suspension solutions. Many people prefer to have integrated recovery points and winch bumper capability for various uses. Others prioritize the ability to add extra trail lighting for better visibility in the dark and dust. Each of ADD's bumper lines is unique in style and how it tailors to these needs, but every one is engineered around these features rather than adapted for them.
Can I install a winch on my front bumper?
Yes, many ADD front bumpers are offered in both winch and non-winch versions. Winch kits are sold separately and are specific to the winch bumper and platform. We do have some bumpers or bumper series that are not able to equip a winch, so please double check before ordering.
Do I need to cut or modify my truck to install an aftermarket front bumper?
Usually ADD engineers its bumpers to have tight fitment and an easy bolt-on installation, eliminating the need for cutting or drilling. The exceptions to this are the frame-cut PRO and Pro Plus bumpers specifically designed to modify the frame in exchange for the absolute maximum amount of clearance for off-roading and an aggressive profile. Some other bumpers may require trimming of the factory bumper such as our Stealth Center Mount front bumpers or the 4th Gen Tacoma Stealth Fighter front bumper. Please read the entire description or review the install guide if you are unsure what will be required.
Are aftermarket bumpers reliable and safe? What are the best off-road bumpers for durability?
Yes. ADD designs to the tightest fitment with the best materials available. Every ADD bumper is fabricated from high-quality steel, welded by hand, and finished in a dual-stage hammer black powder coat, with integrated recovery points on rear bumpers to handle everything from daily driving to extreme off-road terrain. For heavier work, the Bomber HD and Phantom HD lines are built specifically for ¾ and 1 ton trucks.
ADD also designs around factory safety sensors like adaptive cruise control, though some can't be kept without relocation. In those cases our ACC relocation brackets keep your adaptive cruise and parking sensors operating. Make sure to check the individual product page for the bracket that matches your platform.
Choosing With Confidence
The best thing about deciding between different bumpers from Addictive Desert Designs is you don’t have to factor quality into the equation; it is a constant. All ADD products are made with the highest quality steel, designed in house, coated with a durable two-stage powder coat, and trail tested to make sure you receive the best bumper for your build. All you need to consider is what aesthetic you want, whether you are willing to cut the frame, and what kind of terrain your bumper will be up against. Use our Year-Make-Model selector for help finding off-road bumpers that will fit your vehicle.
