*** We have updated information on all the details for the 2022 Tundra in a new article found here.
When leaked images of the new Tundra appeared on Facebook, Toyota released an early image of it in response. Soon, it was splashed all over the web and social media. Little more information is known about it, other than what you can glean from the image.
There's clearly an integrated LED driving light bar in the center of the grille, as well as two additional smaller fog light bars mounted in the front bumper. Three amber marker lights sit centrally just under the hood. There also appears to be an adaptive cruise control sensor system present at the base of the grille. The fender flares and the mid-section of the front bumper has some sort of digital camouflage pattern. It's interesting, but the verdict is still out around here on whether it looks good or not.
Toyota also teased an image of the interior, which really only shows a rather large central touchscreen. JBL speakers are also visible in the image. It's likely that Toyota will be enhancing much of the interior to keep up with Ram, Ford, and GMC's major improvements inside their trucks.
Insider sources at Toyota revealed that the Tundra will be sitting on a new frame that is designed to work also with the Tacoma, Sequoia, and the 4Runner. It's also rumored that the current 5.7L V-8 engine will be replaced with a Twin-Turbo V-6. They may even have a hybrid version available as well.
