If the new Ford Bronco with six different editions currently available wasn't enough, Ford recently announced a new special edition Bronco geared toward those looking for the ultimate factory-built SUV. Coming soon is the all-new Ford Bronco Everglades which Ford said was "engineered and outfitted to take on extreme adventures with confidence." From new rugged hardware to the best-proven bits from other editions and exclusive finishing colors, the Everglades might just be the best Ford Bronco available soon. Well, maybe the Bronco Raptor is the best, but the Everglades seems to surpass all currently available trims.
To make the new Ford Bronco Everglades one of the most capable SUVs available from the factory, Ford included a class-exclusive signature reversible snorkel. Designed to easily reverse depending on trail conditions, this two-way snorkel which runs up the passenger-side windshield pillar, allows for ultimate performance from such elements as dust, snow, and water. It's ride height and the higher placement of the transfer case and transmission cooling vents allow for a maximum water fording depth of 36.4-inches!
According to Ryan Olsson, design manager for the new Bronco, he said: "Bronco enthusiasts demand style as well as performance, so we challenged ourselves to create a snorkel with high-end function and a look that really suits the vehicle." He also added that "what really sets the Everglades snorkel apart is the head and reversible intake" as it "completely changes the way a snorkel can look and function."
Speaking about look and function, another exclusive feature the Everglades edition has is the Ford Performance designed heavy-duty modular front bumper with ZEON 10-S WARN winch. With a 100-foot synthetic line capable of handling 10,000 pounds, this extremely durable winch is one of the most desirable upgrades offroaders want on their rig. It's our opinion that you're better served installing our Bronco Rock Fighter Front Bumper. I mean, look at it! It's the best on the market.
And if the winch front bumper wasn't enough to show the toughness of the Everglades model, Ford installed unique squared front and rear wheel arches while leveraging the Sasquatch-inspired fender flares.
Mechanically, while the engine is shared with other Broncos, the Everglades has a class-exclusive 10-speed automatic transmission that includes an advanced 4x4 system that allows for a maximum 67.8:1 crawl ratio.
Ford heard the feedback from their current customers and included an exclusive 12-inch SYNC 4 system that includes the Ford Power-Up, an over-the-air software update system!
Best Shared Bronco Bits
To make the Everglades edition one of the most comprehensive trim levels available today, Ford included some of the best from other Broncos already available. This includes:
- Protective safari bar, rock rails, and steel bash plates shared with the Black Diamond and Badlands Broncos
- 17-inch Carbonized Gray-painted alloy wheels with 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires from the optional Sasquatch Package
- 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine shared with the full Bronco lineup
Both inside and out, the Bronco Everglades has a very creative color palette. While the standard marine-grade vinyl seats and rubberized washout flooring are shared with other models, the new Urban Green highlights the grab handles, air vents, and seat contrast stitching. You can choose the Everglades-exclusive low-volume Desert Sand, a tactical desert color that will look great with the unique topography style graphics located on both front fenders. Other colors available include the Eruption Green, Area 51, Shadow Black, and Cactus Gray.
